Dr. Adkins was born and raised in Eastern Kentucky, then attended and graduated from Pikeville College in 2000.  After graduation he married Melinda Scott and they moved to Lexington, KY where he was accepted into the University Of Kentucky College Of Dentistry.  He earned his Doctorate in Dentistry in 2004, and their first child Kaitlyn Adkins was born late of his 4th year.  While at the University of Kentucky he was recruited by the United States Air Force, and he accepted a scholarship and upon graduation, became a commissioned officer Dentist (Captain) in the United States Air Force.  His first year of the military was at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, IL where he completed and AEGD (Advanced Education in General Dentistry).

At the end of the residency program he moved on to San Antonio, TX to serve as a Dentist for the men and women in the Air Force for the next two years and then separated with a honorable discharge.  During this time, their second child Abigail Adkins was born.  After leaving Texas he and his family decided to return back to their home state of Kentucky where he would go into private practice with a former classmate for three years.  Not feeling that this was where he wanted to be, he began looking for other options and came across a wonderful practice opportunity.  This is where the Adkins family was introduced to the wonderful and highly respected Dr. Bradford.  Dr. Bradford was ready to retire and wanted to start enjoying retirement with his family.

Dr. Adkins bought Dr. Bradford’s practice in 2010 and has never looked back.  He and his family feel as if this is where they were meant to be. They have a staff of eight amazing women who feel like family and have welcomed them from the first day.
